Mapping & Spatial Representation

Background

A useful skill for visualising and communicating results from coral reef monitoring is being able to represent data spatially. This includes tasks such as:

• Showing location of monitoring sites relative to coastline and other habitats
• Identifying spatial trends in data (e.g. spatial extent of bleaching)

This module provides training materials for linking coordinate data from the field (e.g. from a hand-held GPS unit) and basic mapping functions in R.
